Studio Rentals
For all studio rentals, seamless is provided. If you require a "swept" setup, seamless will be billed at a rate of $5/foot if it is rendered unusable by the shoot (unusable is any condition other than perfect; we wouldn't give it to you dirty, so we can't give it to the next client dirty). If you would like specific beverages and/or food to be here for your shoot, just let us know and we will stock the fridge before you arrive at the cost we pay (with at least 24 hours advance notice). For food considerations, we highly recommend using LA Cafe, which delivers right to the studio. We want you to consider Studio IX your home while you are here. If you need something, just ask. We are here to make your life easier.
The average studio area is approximately 1000 square feet. The setups are extremely dynamic and can be shifted and manipulated to make the perfect shooting arrangement. The Makeup/changing area is a shared space that has ample room for everyone. The maximum number of people per studio space is 6. If you have more people than that, we will need to discuss it on a case by case basis to keep the mayhem to a minimum. We will work with you, just call. Each studio-setup rental comes with a seamless rig (mobile or stationary, depending on your needs and availability), C-Stands (2-3), sand bags, wireless access, lounge area access and a Makeup room with a shared (private) changing area. Proof of insurance (with Studio IX listed as an "additional insured") must be provided, or a refundable $500 deposit must be paid.
Studio IX has phenomenal window light as well, so if you would like to work with the setup to take advantage of that, we will accomodate you if it is possible, depending on how busy the studio is. The light changes throughout the day, and in the late afternoon, we have gorgeous magic hour window light.
We will try to work with any budget, so don't hesitate to call and see if we can work something out if your budget is tight. If you are a student, we will work with your budget as much as we can; we were there once.
Proof of insurance (with Studio IX listed as an "additional insured") must be provided, or a refundable $500 deposit must be paid. We accept credit cards, paypal (no account required) and cash.
Call us about parking, there are several options. DO NOT PARK IN THE McDONALDS PARKING LOT!!! YOU WILL BE TOWED. The lot that is one block from us is $5.50/day. We can also provide an underground spot near the service elevator for Full day rentals depending on availability.

We also have some limited lighting equipment and modifiers for rent, depending on availability. White Lightning 1600 Monoblocks (660 WS) are available for $30/head/full day rental and $20/head/half day rental, in addition to the studio rental price. Lights come with reflectors; modifiers are available for rent as well, depending on availability. 30"x60" Softbox and 60" Octobank are available for $10/each, with light rental. Extra Large Umbrella is available for $5 with a light rental. If you only need light modifiers, they must be compatible with the lights you are using. The Insurance/deposit paid for Studio Rental covers lights and modifiers. If you intend to use a check for your deposit, the check must clear prior to your scheduled studio rental.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel with at least 72 hours notice, there will be a complete refund of your initial deposit or rescheduling at your earliest convenience, depending on availability. Cancellation with less than 72 but more than 24 hours notice incurs a 50% of total rental amount forfeiture and we will attempt to reschedule you within one week, depending on availability. Less than 24 hours notice incurs a penalty of 100% of the rental cost. If you do not show up for your rented slot, there is a 100% forfeiture and all future rentals must be paid in full, in advance to book.
